Trump’s Iran strategist: ‘We’re not looking for regime change’
Brian Hook is the US Special Representative for Iran. He’s the man credited with President Trump’s strategy in the region as head of the Iran Action Group.
Under his watch, the US has enacted its strategy of ‘maximum pressure’, exiting the JCPOA nuclear deal, imposing severe sanctions and killing General Qasem Soleimani.
He speaks to Diplomatic Editor Mark Urban about the outbreak of the coronavirus in the country, the legality of the strike on Soleimani and why he wants a new deal to replace the Obama-era nuclear deal.
