Who’s your unsung hero?
The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Inspirations Awards - Outlook's quest for the world’s most inspiring people - is back
Are you feeling overwhelmed? Worn down by all the conflict and antagonism in the world? We have something to brighten your outlook: today, we are launching the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Inspirations Awards 2020! A celebration of the world's most inspiring people.
In 2018, our judges Tessa Thompson, Frank Gardner and Kumi Naidoo picked three incredible winners:
Nice Leng’ete, who escaped female circumcision when she was 8 years old, became the only girl in her village to go to school, and then convinced her Maasai elders to end FGM; Brisa de Angulo, who challenged Bolivia's legal system and set up a school for sexual abuse survivors after she was raped as a teenager; and Livey Van Wyk, who was ostracised by her community when she became an HIV+ pregnant teen but then went on to become the youngest mayor in Namibia.
Now, we need YOUR help for ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Inspirations 2020.
Is there an unsung hero that you would like to nominate for this year’s longlist? Send your entries to www.bbcworldservice.com/inspirations. It also has our terms and privacy notice. We're accepting submissions until 12:00 GMT on Thursday 9 April, so no time to lose!
