A sweet wrapper for vaccines
Live vaccines usually need to be kept in refrigerators, but a team led by Prof Maria Croyle from the College of Pharmacy at the University of Texas have come up with an edible film made with common ingredients such as sugar and salt. These allow vaccines to be sealed and preserved without refrigeration until needed.
