Charities set to lose a third of income due to coronavirus
One key area of the economy which has been crying out for government support is the charity sector
In moments of need charities are a service that many turn to. But the forced closure of shops could mean a loss of around a third of their income according to the National Council for Voluntary Organisations, the umbrella body for the voluntary and community sector in England.
As a result many charities are struggling to continue to provide support to those who need it.
The government is yet to announce measures specifically to support the sector, but says charities can benefit from some of the treasury's schemes for businesses.
The CEO of the Women's Resource centre said "we're basically delivering a fourth emergency service and we're hearing nothing from the government.
