
Ottolenghi: 'Restaurants need rent-free period to survive’
Restauranteur and food writer Yotam Ottolenghi has told ѿý Radio 5 Live restaurants need a “rent-free period” in order to survive after lockdown is lifted.
Speaking to Emma Barnett, Yotam said he feels “confident” that the UK government will help the restaurant industry with rent freezes once they are allowed to open but still have to enforce social distancing between customers.
The government have announced a support package including a potential tax and business rates holiday along with loans available to affected businesses.
