PM statement comes 'too soon' for North West England - Burnham
Greater Manchester mayor Andy Burnham has told ѿý Radio 5 Live that he feels the prime minister’s changes to the lockdown guidelines have come ’too soon’ for the North West of England.
Boris Johnson announced a "conditional plan" to begin lifting England's coronavirus lockdown on Sunday.
Speaking to 5 Live Breakfast, Mr Burnham said: "The prime minister's statement comes too soon for us, it doesn't feel as though it was driven by what was happening in the North West.”
He said there was an imbalance in regional representation at the government's Cobra meetings.
