How to limit screen time with Dr. Aaron Balick
Jonathan and Debs ask a psychotherapist how to approach technology
Frazzled parents Jonathan Overend (ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio 5 Live) and Deborah James (You, Me and the Big C) hear from Radio 2’s Jeremy Vine a father of teenage daughters, who has a love hate relationship with technology. Mum Philly is worried her teenage girls have been spending too much time on their phones and has recently discovered they are secretly having fun online when they are supposed to be working. She wants to confiscate their phones but doesn’t know how much screen time is healthy. They are joined by Bitesize expert Dr. Aaron Balick, a clinical psychotherapist who has extensively researched online teenage behavior. He gives some practical advice for parents on how to think about ‘technology’ less simplicistically, how to build trust and why we should only ever have one browsing tab open at a time.
