
George Floyd's friend - 'He was a protector'
One of George Floyd's friends has told ѿý Radio 5 Live that he would "never have wanted any of his people to be scared".
There have been nationwide protests across the US after the death of George Floyd, who died after being arrested by police outside a shop in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Footage of the arrest on 25 May shows a white police officer, Derek Chauvin, kneeling on Mr Floyd's neck while he was pinned to the floor.
He has since been charged with murder.
Speaking to Colin Murray, George's friend Trisha said: "He would have never wanted any of his people to be scared for themselves, or their lives or their livelihood because he was a protector.”
