'Recovering' the Lost Gardens of Heligan after the lockdown
It's been thirty years since the Lost Gardens of Heligan were reopened to the public, after sitting abandoned on the outskirts of Mevagissey for generations.
And this year, they were almost 'lost' again - after the gardening team was ordered to down tools and head home when the lockdown was introduced. Everything was left to grow wild, blooming away without a soul to see it ... until now.
From next week, you'll be able to book a slot to go and visit the Gardens in a safe, socially-distanced way - and the team are back on-site, getting things ready for the reopening. Our weekend presenter Jack Murley has been catching up with head gardener Alasdair Moore to find out how the past few weeks have been for him.
(PS. Please note it's really important that you book your time slot AHEAD of going to Heligan - and that you can't just turn up on the door.)
