47% of all coronavirus deaths in Scotland were in care homes. In an interview with Newsnight鈥檚 Kirsty Wark, Nicola Sturgeon rejected suggestions her government鈥檚 handling of the crisis in care homes was a fundamental mistake in public policy.

The first minister also said the impact of a no-deal Brexit would be 鈥減retty catastrophic鈥� and to add the economic impact of that onto the hit of coronavirus would be 鈥渁n unthinkable thing to do鈥�.

Ms Sturgeon also said allegations that her allies tried to bring down former First Minister Alex Salmond is a 鈥渉eap of nonsense鈥� and there was 鈥渘o conspiracy鈥� against her predecessor.
