Nicola Sturgeon on Coronavirus, Alex Salmond and ‘No-Deal Brexit’
47% of all coronavirus deaths in Scotland were in care homes. In an interview with Newsnight’s Kirsty Wark, Nicola Sturgeon rejected suggestions her government’s handling of the crisis in care homes was a fundamental mistake in public policy.
The first minister also said the impact of a no-deal Brexit would be “pretty catastrophic” and to add the economic impact of that onto the hit of coronavirus would be “an unthinkable thing to do”.
Ms Sturgeon also said allegations that her allies tried to bring down former First Minister Alex Salmond is a “heap of nonsense” and there was “no conspiracy” against her predecessor.
