'Will the publishing industry change how it treats black writers?'

Two black British women writers – Bernadine Evaristo and Reni Eddo-Lodge - have topped the UK fiction and non-fiction bestseller charts for the first time. But the recent hashtag #publishingpaidme has shown that in many cases globally black women were paid smaller advances than their white counterparts. Woman's Hour's Jane Garvey hears from the bestselling author of Queenie, Candice Carty-Williams who worked in the publishing industry for some time, and Sharmaine Lovegrove founder of Dialogue Books.
