Written as a companion to Janacek’s 'Glagolitic Mass' for the First Night of the Proms in 2011, 'Stars, night, music and light' shares a common urgency with the Janacek in rasping trumpet fanfares and a pulsating organ part. The words are by the 17th century poet George Herbert.
