From Brookside to Eastenders, Moving On to Waterloo Road - the screen-writer has been involved in them all, and been nominated for a BAFTA along the way for his work on the brilliant Jimmy McGovern show Accused.

So how did he end up in the industry, and what's it like to create some iconic telly moments?
