Beth Shriever: To have an extra year and to get extra experience is priceless
Even before the obstacle of Covid-19 got in the way, the road to Tokyo for Finchingfield's BMX rider, Beth Shriever, had already been a rollercoaster.
The 2017 Junior World Champion and multiple British Champion is the country's top racer, but had resorted to crowdfunding in order to raise the funds to be able to make the Olympics before rejoining the British Cycling set-up last summer.
And having made a strong start to the 2020 season, her Olympic debut looked almost certain before all activities were suspended in March.
