Agoraphobia: Lockdown helped me get out of the house

5 Live listener Rachel Connett has told ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio 5 Live Drive how lockdown helped her begin her journey out of isolation.

The former deputy head teacher has agoraphobia and has feared situations which cause her to panic since 2014; a trip to the shop can be enough to trigger an anxiety attack.

However, the coronavirus pandemic encouraged her "to ask herself some tough questions" after she discovered she wasn't missing much during lockdown.

Since April, she's now been enjoying walks and picnics in the park, car journeys and chats with friends outside.

She revealed that looking up to the sky "was such a beautiful moment" and that she felt "so happy that she wanted to change things."
