Leading British scientist: Herd immunity is a ‘minority view’
Leading British scientist compares those who believe in herd immunity with the ‘anti-vaccinations’ debate.
Professor Peter Openshaw, member of the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE), says within the science community those who believe in herd immunity are a minority and likened their position to those who don’t believe in vaccines.
Speaking to 5 Live’s Emma Barnett, he said it is an “extreme view to say we should just let this virus go and get back to normal social activity.â€
