Covid vaccine: The facts and data explained
A UK grandmother has become the first person in the world to be given the Pfizer Covid-19 jab as part of a mass vaccination programme.
Margaret Keenan, who turns 91 next week, said the injection she received at 06:31 GMT on 8 December was the "best early birthday present".
The sight of Maggie and so many other of our elderly taking up the vaccine, lifted the nation’s spirits. But away from the cameras the day also brought new data - fascinating insights into the scientific properties of two of the vaccines and what they can help us to understand how it works.
