Coronation street actor: An elderly lady hit me with a handbag

Coronation Street actor Jane Danson says "some people really do think" the soap is real.

Speaking to 5 Live's Emma Barnett, Jane said "an elderly lady did hit me with a handbag... as an 18-year-old that's quite hard to swallow".

The incident happened when her character, Leanne Battersby, was first introduced to the long-running show.
