Hair loss charity makes first ever wig using afro hair
10-year-old Carly wanted to donate her hair to the Little Princess Trust, which provides wigs for children living with hair loss due to cancer treatment 鈥 but was told her afro hair couldn鈥檛 be made into a wig.
鈥淭o tell her, her Caucasian friends at school could donate hair but hers just wasn鈥檛 good enough - it took me a while to be able to explain that to her鈥 says Mum, Anna
Not taking no for an answer, Carly pushed for change and the trust agreed to trial wig-making using her tightly curled locks 鈥 meaning her hair will be used in the charity's first real afro wig.
鈥淲e鈥檙e so proud of her determination, she wants to make a difference to another child of mixed heritage who鈥檇 lost their hair鈥 continues Anna.
