Dog return amazes family after week down a hole - "We had completely given up hope"
At what point do you give up hope when your dog's gone missing?
One four-legged friend from Charlton near Shaftesbury turned up after nearly a week away.
Porridge, the 3 year old Cairn terrier made a beeline for a badger sett in a field last Tuesday, and disappeared down a hole. Despite extraordinary search efforts that included the RSPCA and the fire brigade, as the days passed by, his owners feared the worst.
Nearly a week later, to the amazement of his owners, Porridge turned up barking on the doorstep in the early hours.
ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Solent reporter Laurence Herdman met three delighted generations of the same family - Susie, the owner of Porridge, granddaughters Molly and Willa, and first mum Flora Harvey.
