Meryl Jenkins, a senior nurse who manages a team of around 170 staff at four main hospitals run by the Hywel Dda University Health Board in West Wales has told 5 Live about the pressures her colleagues are under.

Describing what it is like on the frontline of an Intensive Care Unit she said: 鈥淥ver the weekend I was on call and there was nurses in tears, there was doctors in tears, it鈥檚 just been hard.鈥�

Despite everything, Meryl holds onto hope.

鈥淵ou鈥檝e got to keep hope, I鈥檝e always clung onto that as an intensive care nurse. Never lose hope."
