Dr Radha's tips on dealing with home schooling emotions
GP and ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio 1 Life Hacks presenter has shared her top tips to help parents deal with the emotions of home schooling.
As part of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio 5 Live Drive's 'Wellbeing With' series, Dr Radha advised parents to try to "respond", rather than "react" when dealing with a child or teenager who may be being difficult at home.
"Try to stop, take a step back, take a breath and think OK... what's going on underneath this emotion or behaviour? And what does that child, that teenager need from me right now?" Radha added.
The GP explained that often the emotion underneath a child's anger or frustration is "fear, anxiety or sadness" and emphasised just how important it is to have regular conversations with children about how they are feeling and how you are feeling too.
