Pupils at Highgate School hold walkout after claims of ‘rape culture’

Pupils at a north London private school walked out of classes following claims the school had a "rape culture".

A dossier with more than 200 testimonies by former and current Highgate School pupils was sent to governors and published online.

Serious claims of sexual violence and harassment in schools must be reported to the police, England's children's commissioner Rachel de Souza has told Newsnight.

In a statement, the school told us it was truly sorry to anybody who had not been properly supported, and that it had commissioned an immediate external review to scrutinise exactly what took place. It says it will make public the findings when they’re available, and are committed to taking whatever action is required to change the culture at the school.
