Sharon Stone: 'People would say I should resign from the show if I didn't want to sleep with them'

It’s nearly thirty years since Sharon Stone played alleged serial killer Catherine Trammell in Basic Instinct. It was a role she craved but only managed to obtain after twelve other actresses turned it down. It was a huge box office hit and the infamous uncrossing leg scene remains one of the most controversial moments in film history. More films followed including an Oscar nomination for Martin Scorsese's Casino. At the height of her career in 2001, after adopting her first child, she suffered a stroke and almost died. She’s now written her memoir, The Beauty of Living Twice. In her only UK broadcast interview, she tells Woman's Hour what she thinks of the #MeToo movement and how it's changed working in the film industry.
