Prince Philip 'inspired thousands of young people to press onwards'
Prince Philip set up the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme in 1956 to empower young people from all communities by offering them the opportunities to build their confidence and resiliance through new opportunities. Denise Mortimer was involved with the scheme in the Bahamas and recalls how the programme inspired thousands of young people.
