The artist Sonya Clark is famous for using textiles, as well as human hair and combs throughout her work. She uses her pieces to explore race, racism and American history, calling attention to the roots of racial injustice. Her display, "Tatter, Bristle, and Mend" is showing at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington DC - the artist's hometown.
