Dame Louise Casey said low literacy could be having an impact on Covid-19 vaccination take-up.

The ex-government adviser told Naga Munchetty that "people feel very intimidated and excluded if they are unable to read and they really stop basic things鈥�.

"I would imagine some of the low take-up of the vaccination is because people don鈥檛 have the same access to literature that I would have,鈥� she said.

Dame Louise also discussed the impact low level literacy has on women experiencing domestic abuse.
