Louise Casey: People feel ‘intimidated’ if they are unable to read
Dame Louise Casey said low literacy could be having an impact on Covid-19 vaccination take-up.
The ex-government adviser told Naga Munchetty that "people feel very intimidated and excluded if they are unable to read and they really stop basic things”.
"I would imagine some of the low take-up of the vaccination is because people don’t have the same access to literature that I would have,” she said.
Dame Louise also discussed the impact low level literacy has on women experiencing domestic abuse.
This clip was originally broadcast on Naga Munchetty on 7 April 2021.
