Leeds: City On A Mission
The city of Leeds has committed to being net carbon neutral by 2030 - but what does that mean? And how can they achieve it?
5 Live are taking a closer look at how a big city can reduce its carbon emissions. From cleaner air to active travel, the station will be discussing whether you can go green without making your life harder and having honest discussions about the challenges ahead.
Running for a whole year, the series will be going in-depth on houses, food, transport, waste and leisure time – hearing from different generations and communities about what they think of a net zero Britain.
The project will follow Leeds, a former industrial powerhouse, and look at what it is doing around housing, food, transport, waste and leisure time to see how the city could be transformed into an urban centre of the future.
