Belarus flight arrest: Who is Roman Protasevich?
Belarus President Lukashenko has pulled out all the stops to detain 26-year-old journalist, Roman Protasevich.
The journalist was in Athens attending an economic summit, and was returning to Lithuania, where he is in exile.
Protasevich is a former editor of Nexta, a media operation with a Telegram channel, who in 2020 broadcast footage of protests against President Lukashenka. After the broadcast, Protasevich was charged with terrorism and inciting riots.
Tadeusz Giczan, editor-in-chief of Nexta TV, explains why Protasevich was considered a threat to the regime in Belarus.
