Eric Carle, The Very Hungry Caterpillar author, has died
Millions of families have shared the fun of reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Eric Carle's most famous book. The author passed away this week, and had written over 70 children's books which sold more than 170 million copies worldwide. New York Times contributor, Julia Carmel, looks back at his life and explains why The Very Hungry Caterpillar book became so popular.
