WHO Europe's top tips to prevent another Covid wave
The summer holiday season has led many European states to ease Covid-19 restrictions on travel and gatherings. Hungary for example saw nearly sixty-thousand people gather for the Euro football match between the hosts and Portugal.
But despite the summer sun and optimism, the virus continues to spread across much of Europe while new and highly transmissible variants become the dominant strain.
In recent days the World Health Organisation has been emphasising that governments should not repeat the mistakes made in the summer 2020, where many cases and deaths followed in the winter months. So Dr Hans Kluge, the WHO's Europe regional director, sets out the advice to stay safe.
