UFO report: 'It was travelling very fast, very erratically. There was no apparent smoke trail'
Lt Cmdr Alex Dietrich was on a routine training flight with a group of other pilot trainees when they saw an identified object off the coast of California in 2004. She says there was no obvious sign of how it was being manoeuvred and it was flying "very fast and very erratically".
It's one of 200 cases from the last 20 years being reviewed in a report from the Pentagon that is coming out later this month. Some are hoping the report will remove the issue from the realm of science fiction and enable the US government to consider it as matter of national security.
"It was travelling very fast, very erratically. You couldn't understand how it was manoevering or the propulsion system, there was no apparent smoke trail."
