Member of the People's Defence Force in Mandalay
Armed clashes between the Burmese army and a newly formed militia have taken place in the country's second city, Mandalay. There have been casualties though numbers are not clear. Newshour got through to a man in his 20s, who says he is in Mandalay. He has also told us that he is in the militia, the People's Defence Force. We have no way of verifying his story. The military government has not allowed any independent media into the country for some time. Razia Iqbal asked him how big is the group he's part of?
