Britney Spears speaks out against 'abusive' conservatorship
The US pop star Britney Spears has spoken out against her father and the "abusive" conservatorship that has controlled her life for 13 years. Speaking in court, she accused her father of controlling her "100,000%".
Mobeen Azhar made a documentary about the Britney Spears conservatorship - "The Battle for Britney". He told Newsday:
“Conservatorship is put in place to govern the finances of people who are deemed to be incapacitated or not fit to run their own finances. One of the big revelations is that the level of control extends way beyond the life of a pop star and the professional life of Britney and into reproductive rights and her personal life.”
