Kenya: How to protect children from being kidnapped
Kenya has announced it is setting up an elite squad to combat child kidnapping. There has been a spate of cases involving children being being snatched from residential and commercial areas in various towns across the country. It was also the focus of the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Africa Eye investigation last year which found children being sold for as little as four-hundred US dollars.
Nkatha Mugao is the Founder of Frolics of Hope Africa, a charity that supports children and families who have experienced kidnapping, child trafficking, early marriages and FGM. First, what are the reasons behind the kidnappings?
