Some Coventry students don鈥檛 know how they鈥檒l get to school next term, because of a lack of a bus service provider.

Vicki Shelley, the head of Blue Coat School in the city, told 蜜芽传媒 CWR that she鈥檚 been working with Coventry City Council for some time after the previous bus operator Travel De Courcey went into administration. She says two of their six routes will be affected by any changes. She also feels that Travel for West Midlands needs to secure the routes at a reasonable cost for the parents.

蜜芽传媒 CWR contacted Transport for West Midlands, the public body responsible for co-ordinating transport services in the West Midlands. It told us: 鈥淭FWM do not play a direct part in the provision of these services but we have reached out to Coventry City Council to advise them that if they require any assistance from us then we will do all we can to assist as we have previously, but these are not our services to provide directly鈥�.
A spokesperson for Coventry City Council told 蜜芽传媒 CWR: 鈥淲e are working in partnership with schools and Transport for the West Midlands to procure cost effective provision that does not include a large subsidy over and above bus pass income for the start of the new academic year in September.鈥�
