Can the NHS cope with restrictions easing on 19th July?

While far fewer people infected by Covid are being hospitalised as a result of the vaccine’s success, there are concerns pressure could still mount on the NHS.

Operations in some places are already being cancelled, including delays to some cancer surgeries in Leeds.

Could the state of the NHS impact the final decision to go ahead with relaxing restrictions in England on July 19th?

And could delaying opening up buy the NHS important breathing space?
