Haiti's ambassador to the US on request for American support
A week on from the assassination of the Haitian president, Jovenel Moise, the authorities in Haiti are asking for US troops to help them calm the chaos that the power vacuum has created.
The interim government is trying to stabilise the country and plan for new elections; to do this, it says it needs American help.
Haiti's ambassador to the United States, Bocchit Edmond, told Newshour's Paul Henley more about what they have asked for.
