'Urgent need' to stop greater climate change says COP26 president

The UK minister in charge of the climate summit in Glasgow in November has told Newshour that the impact of global warming can be seen around the world and there is now an urgent need to prevent temperatures rising by more than 1.5*C.

Alok Sharma, the president of COP26, said each week brought fresh evidence of what would happen if climate change got out of control.

Mr Sharma told Julian Marshall that more ambition was needed, particularly in phasing out the use of coal and that progress had to be made at a G20 summit in October.
