Calls for New York Governor to resign
President Biden is leading calls for one of the country's most prominent politicians, New York governor Andrew Cuomo, to resign over a damning sexual harassment report.
An investigation began after several women came forward with allegations of sexual misconduct.
Jeremy Stahl is Senior Editor of Slate magazine. He told Newsday:
“When this first emerged back in February, he was very adamant that he would not be resigning. He put out a 14 minute statement yesterday, announcing that he believes he is innocent. But the pressure is mounting from everywhere, including the very highest levels of the US government and more importantly in New York. Attempting to fight through charges and not resign, I think that is less and less of a possibility. The New York legislature could impeach and remove him.”
