New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has resigned after an inquiry found that he sexually harassed multiple women.

Julia Manchester is political reporter for The Hill in Washington.

She told Newsday: 鈥淚t is ironic because the Governor has put out initiatives that protect women from sexual misconduct, but he has turned out to be allegedly one of the biggest perpetrators.鈥�

She said Mr Cuomo had stayed so long in his job because of his role during the coronavirus pandemic.

鈥淩oughly a year ago he was known as 鈥楢merica's governor鈥�. Those daily briefings that he gave really boosted him and made him seem like a reliable figure.鈥�
