Britney Spears' victory as father steps down as conservator
Britney Spears' father Jamie Spears has agreed to step down as conservator to her estate, according to court documents.
The pop star has spent months publicly fighting to be freed from the control her father has had over her life for the past 13 years, calling the conservatorship "abusive".
Elizabeth Wagmeister is Variety's senior correspondent and host of Variety's weekly news series, "The Take."
"She believes her father should be in jail - she wants to press charges. She believes her father has abused his role as conservator... so it's a big, big moment for Britney."
