What does Pakistan make of the Taliban take over?
One of the countries that is likely to play a key role in the formation of a new government in Afghanistan is its neighbour, Pakistan. A party to the peace negotiations between the Afghan government and the Taliban in Doha, Pakistan has long had an ambiguous relationship with the militants; offering a safe haven to its officials, even as the Taliban's local affiliate has launched renewed attacks on Pakistani soil.

Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan has been quoted as saying that the Afghan people had "thrown off the shackles of slavery". I asked his special assistant, Raoof Hassan, what his country made of the Taliban take over.
