'I am a ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ journalist, but I’m an Afghan woman as well’
If you watched the Taliban’s live press conference this week, you would have heard what one of the Taliban’s spokesmen had to say about Afghan women under their rule. The woman’s voice you could hear translating the Taliban spokesman is the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½â€™s Zarghuna Kargar. She is a journalist for ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ World News TV and her translation and voice went right around the world on the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ and was picked up by other networks too.
She joined Emma Barnett on Woman’s Hour to discuss this experience and why she thinks the Taliban needs to be more clear about the future of women and girls in the country.
