Soaring service charges: ‘I’ve been left with a £60k bill’
For the thousands of leaseholders caught up in the cladding crisis the costs can be eye-watering.
But many are also having to contend with another problem – soaring service charges, which are dictated by the freeholders of buildings.
One leaseholder tells Newsnight his service charge bill has increased by 40%.
Another has been left with a £60k bill to pay, after her service charge was combined with fire safety charges.
