Afghanistan: The race to evacuate those most at risk
Evacuations from Kabul airport in Afghanistan are picking up pace and US President Joe Biden says he aims to complete the operation - and US troop pull-out - by the 31 August deadline. The rush is on for those trying to process the would-be evacuees and for groups outside Afghanistan who are trying to organise a way out for former colleagues and those whom they think are at particular risk. A retired US special forces soldier is working with a task force to reach and assist as many people as possible to leave the country and reach a place of safety. He describes the people they are helping and how they will keep on with the work after the deadline has passed.
"We have fought and bled with these folks and we're not leaving them behind."
