Parental alienation: What if your child stops communicating with you?
As part of this year’s Listener Week, a Woman’s Hour listener wrote in asking us to discuss Parental Alienation; the unjustified rejection of a parent by a child, encouraged by the other parent. The listener chose to remain anonymous, but said she hasn't seen or spoken to her teenage daughter in six years. Her story was voiced by an actor.
She says it’s too late for her, but she wants to help others in this situation. Dr Amy Baker, Research Author and Parental Alienation Expert, joined Emma Barnett to discuss what parents can do if they are experiencing this.
