Covid: Protests in Italy over 'green pass'
Protests are planned in Italy today with the start of the mandatory "green passport" on public transport. The vaccine passport makes it impossible to go about daily activities - such as education, sporting and cultural events and travel - without it.
Chiara Baldi is a journalist for La Stampa newspaper in Milan.
She told Newsday. “The no vax movement is huge. They will try to stop the trains and they will try to occupy the stations. The mandatory green pass makes it possible to travel by train, boats and airplanes. But if you don't have it you can't travel.â€
“The green pass is also mandatory if you are a student at university and if you work in a school.â€
“The no vax movement uses Telegram chat a lot and the most important chat they use has 43,000 members.â€
The "green passport" shows that you have been vaccinated, recently had Covid, or can show a recent negative test result.
