
Afghan resettlement in the UK
Former British government and military workers will be able to move to the UK permanently
The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Office has announced that Afghans who worked for the British military and UK government will be able to move to the UK permanently. Those who arrived previously had had their temporary residency capped at five years, but they too will now be granted indefinite leave to remain.
The Taliban leadership have said on their first day with international forces gone from Afghanistan that they want good relations with everyone, while also warning that there should be no interference in their affairs.
Today's Mishal Husain speaks to Victoria Atkins, the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Office minister in charge of Afghan resettlement as well as Nusrat Ghani, Conservative MP who is among those trying to help Afghans who still want to leave. Lyse Doucet also sends her latest report from Kabul.
