‘I have to completely shut everything out or it could get quite catastrophic’
A teenager has spoken out about her experience of living with misophonia, a condition which causes anger at sounds made by others.
Isla-Grace who is 19 years old and from North Wales, spoke to Nicky Campbell on Your Call about the different things that affect her.
“Repetitive clicking pens, I can block it out with my ears and closing my eyes but I was still thinking about it, I just wanted to cry” she said.
Isla-Grace also described the challenges of taking public transport, as that environment can trigger the condition.
“Sometimes it can be people talking, just hearing their voice, I have to completely shut everything out or it could get quite catastrophic,” she said.
